We all know that working with horses and being in the equine industry takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice, but I think what is most important is passion! Every trainer I have ever worked for or talked to has told me that if you want to be in this business you have to love it and that means that you have to have an unwavering amount of passion for this lifestyle because it is not easy and you will not become rich overnight!
A couple that I believe have put their whole heart, faith, and passion into their horse business are Kason and Hattie Wolfe of Wolfe Select! Now not only are these two very dear friends of mine, but I am so inspired by their story, their dreams and goals. One of the things we talk about in the episode is how they are literally building their dream ranch and business in Weatherford, Texas and how this dream came to be! Where they have visions of having big events, retreats, horse sale fitting and expanding their breeding operations at the ranch.
You can also hear more about Hattie's story and background of the horses she grew up with as a trick rider and how that taught her so much going into the buying and selling business with Kason and how the relationship a rider has with their horse is so important. As well as how the challenges they have faced in this business have created some of the most rewarding moments in their lives. Through everything that they have learned and gained from others the one message that they have always stayed true to is who they are with God and sharing His message with others through horses!
Another topic that we talk about in the episode is Kason's heart for clinics and helping riders build confidence with their horse and helping to set them up to be successful as a team, which plays into their buying and selling business of matching the right horse with the right person. We all know that having the right people and horses in your network can do so much for your life outside of the arena and in the industry!
The bible says to seek wise counsel and Kason and Hattie have done that so well from Kason seeking mentorship and friendship from Chris Cox and the wise women Hattie has in her family and friends.
I believe this episode is so important to listen to especially right now to highlight the trainers and businesses that are doing their best to put the horse first and are working hard to make the industry better for the future!
